MDS is named an Employee Recommended Workplace for 2019

In their third annual Employee Recommended Workplace Award, Morneau Shepell and The Globe and Mail recognized MDS as one of 75 “Employee Recommended Workplaces” for 2019.

The Employee Recommended Workplace Award recognizes excellence in achieving a healthy, engaged, and productive workforce. It is the only award of its kind that is based entirely on feedback from employees.

MDS employees completed a Total Health Assessment from the workplace health experts at Morneau Shepell. The assessment evaluated their Total Health in four areas: Physical, Mental, Work and Life as shown below.

“We make it a point to focus on mental health in the workplace,” says Carole Morris, Director of Human Resources at MDS. “We encourage healthy living, activity, and work-life balance through various programs and friendly competition around the office. The summary report will help us continue to focus on the things that make us great and to make improvements where they are needed.

Receiving this award based on our employees’ feedback is such an honour, we are proud to have built a truly special environment that supports our most important assets – our people – in attaining their desired physical and mental health.”

Inspired by #BellLetsTalk, MDS has launched a Mental Health Awareness Month in February to continue encouraging our workforce talk about mental health and be more active. Through a number of games, workshops, learning sessions, and relaxation activities, the goal is to bring awareness to a growing issue in Canada and inspire people to “join the conversation”.
