MDS Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

We are extremely proud to announce that MDS has been named a winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program for 2012, sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO forum. To have our efforts recognized by such a prestigious designation as Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, is a huge accomplishment for MDS.

Canada’s Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.

MDS’ best managed application focused primarily on our niche market strategy which helped accelerate MDS from operating as a small engineering consultant in Canada to completing large design-build projects and establishing a service business in the international market.

“This is our first year applying for this award, and we are extremely honored to be recognized for our commitment to continuous improvement and our focus on best practices, all of which are demonstrated across our range of product and services” – Kevin Fitzgerald, President and CEO.

“As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we would like to congratulate MDS and its entire workforce. Achieving Canada’s highest level of Canadian business excellence takes a united effort and we are privileged to acknowledge such a strong team,” said John Hughes, National leader for Canada’s Best Managed Companies program and leader of the Greater Toronto Growth Enterprise practice for Deloitte.

This award follows MDS being named a finalist in HSBC’s International Business Awards in the “Large Enterprise” category.
