Executive Management Appointments
As part of its succession planning and growth strategy to strengthen its Executive Management Team, MDS is pleased to announce the following recent appointments:
John Jastremski – Senior Vice-President, Business Development
John has been a key contributor to MDS since he first joined in 1994, after graduating with Bachelors and Masters of Engineering degrees. He has worked in all key areas of the business including Engineering Management, Project Management and from 2004 as Vice-President Sales & Marketing.
In his new role of Senior Vice-President, Business Development, John is responsible for all Business Development, Sales and Marketing activities across all business segments.
Simon Arbuthnot – Chief Operating Officer
Simon joined MDS as Vice-President, Business Development in 2009. Simon is a Chartered Engineer (UK), with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s of Business Administration. He brings exceptional experience in the gas turbine engineering field to this position. Prior to joining MDS, Simon had a career spanning 19 years with Rolls-Royce in a variety of gas turbine design and engineering roles, culminating with the position of Programme Executive – Engineering (Derby, UK).
In his new role of Chief Operating Officer, Simon oversees all operations related to the delivery of products and projects both in Canada and globally. This includes all Design, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management and Supply Chain Management activities.
Jim Henry – Vice-President Services
A critical element of MDS’ business strategy involves a more structured approach to supporting our services business. We are pleased to welcome Jim Henry as MDS’ new Vice-President of Services.
Jim has over 20 years’ experience in senior engineering and business leadership positions in Aerospace and Gas Turbines. He brings extensive knowledge and experience in service delivery and has an impressive portfolio of notable growth achievements. Jim has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and a career spanning the Canadian Air Force and Standard Aero, Winnipeg and San Antonio.
In the role of Vice-President Services, Jim will have direct responsibility for Customer Support, MDS AeroTest and MDS Aero Support Ltd. (UK).
Tim Blaisdell – Vice-President Business Development, North America
A key component of MDS’ strategy is the growth of its North American customer base. We are pleased to welcome Tim Blaisdell to the MDS team as Vice President Business Development, North America. Based in Hartford CT, Tim will play a significant role in the development and management of customer relationships to further strengthen our presence in North America.
Tim brings over 20 years of experience in various management and business development roles and worked at Pratt Whitney in East Hartford CT for the past 12 years.
Carole Morris – Director Human Resources
Carole has been a trusted advisor to MDS over the past 15 years in the development of our Human Resources organization and processes.
In her new role, Carole is responsible for the development and implementation of human resource policies, programs and services, including employee relations, employment practices, compensation and benefits, recruitment and orientation, training and development, retention, legal compliance and procedures, and employee communications.
Carole brings exceptional experience to this role, particularly in the areas of talent management, training and development, areas of key focus for MDS moving forward.
