MDS Showcases Ontario Innovation Leadership During Visit from MPP George Darouze

Ottawa, ON – 30 April 2026 MDS Aero Support Corporation (MDS) welcomed MPP George Darouze to its Ottawa headquarters today, highlighting the company’s role in advancing Ontario’s aerospace innovation ecosystem following support from the Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF).
During the visit, MPP Darouze toured MDS’ facilities, seeing firsthand how MDS has harnessed the EODF, along with its own investments, to enhance the company’s capabilities and strengthen Ontario’s position as a leader in aerospace testing and validation.
“MDS Aero Support Corporation’s investment will support growth and innovation across the local manufacturing sector and create more good-paying jobs for workers and families in Ottawa,” said MPP Darouze.
The EODF was awarded to support the company’s investment in next-generation aerospace test technologies, including its Multi-Axis Thrust Frame (MATF), nxDAS software, and advanced throttle validation solutions.
At the core of MDS’s recent advancements is the MATF, a technologically advanced system capable of measuring forces and moments across six degrees of freedom that supports complex engine testing for applications such as VTOL and defence, showcasing the crucial role Canada will play in this rapidly expanding space.
Complementing this is the continued evolution of MDS’s nxDAS platform, a modular, high-performance data acquisition system designed to meet the demands of modern test environments. Enhancements such as nxThrottle further extend these capabilities, providing scalable, cost-effective actuation solutions across a wide range of engine test facilities.
Together, these advancements are helping position Ontario at the forefront of aerospace innovation while enabling MDS to compete more effectively in international markets.
“Sustained innovation and technological development are critical to our growth, to maintaining our competitive edge, and to meeting the demands of an industry that is both highly technical and rapidly evolving,” said John Jastremski, President & CEO of MDS.
The EODF program is designed to support Ontario companies in making strategic investments that enhance competitiveness, boost productivity, and create sustainable jobs across the region. The funding awarded to MDS is enabling the company to accelerate development, expand its technical capabilities, and drive long-term economic growth in Eastern Ontario.
MDS continues to expand its presence in Ottawa while delivering advanced testing solutions to customers around the world, reinforcing Ontario’s reputation as a hub for aerospace excellence.
