We are looking for a full-time Senior Mechanical Checker to join our team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of engineering drawings against ASME Y14.5, CSA B78.2 and other applicable standards
  • Verify technical accuracy (form and fit) across companywide drawings
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement changes in work instructions, standard drawing notes and other procedures
  • Provide advice, guidance and recommendations to designers
  • Assist in preparation of drafting estimates
  • Ensure drawing generation and control procedures are followed

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience as a designer/draftsperson or related discipline
  • Fluency in ASME Y14.5-2009
  • Familiarity with CSA B78.2
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD 2018, Inventor and Vault software
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes such as welding, forming, machining and surface finishing
  • Knowledge of welding symbols (welding design)
  • General geometric tolerance methods
  • PLM software (Omnify 6)
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from a recognized college
  • Excellent English communication skills
