The Administrative Assistant is a new role on the Human Resources team and we’re just as excited about it as you are. You will be the central point of contact for all employees across the company, including our offices in Manitoba and Derby, UK. You will support the HR team in performing various administrative tasks. From data entry into our HRIS, to preparing letters for employees, to keeping track of corporate training records, this role is essential in supporting the HR Team in providing quality services to MDS employees. To be successful in this role, you’ll have to possess a servant mentality while maintaining the strictest confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry into the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) including: entering and updating all employee information including new hires and departing employees
  • Assist internal clients with various inquiries and questions
  • Coordinate all mandatory corporate training and maintain records
  • Assist with any training funding programs and coordinate with our external training provider
  • Organize and maintain all HR department records and employment files
  • Assist with WSIB claims, updating employee benefit information, preparing and uploading pension payments, and yearly pension plan filing
  • Prepare new hire orientation documentation
  • Perform other administrative tasks such as employment confirmation letters, employment letters including extension, transfer, temp to perm, etc.
  • Contribute to process improvements within HR; assist with the implementation and monitoring of various HR programs and processes
  • Develop effective internal client relationships
  • Provides administrative support to the HR Team on various projects as needed

Experience

  • 4 years’ experience in the office administration field
  • In-depth understanding of HR and administrative processes and practices
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or other HR systems; ability to use automation to improve efficiency
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
