MDS to Design and Supply Swedish Industrial Gas Turbine Test Facility

Ottawa, January 12, 2011 – MDS has been awarded a contract to design and supply an Industrial Gas Turbine Test Facility for Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB.
The test facility will be used for both production and development testing of Siemens’ current and future gas turbine products.
The new facility is to be built in Finspong, Sweden, 200 kilometres southwest of Stockholm. Finspong has been designated as a growth site within the Siemens organization.
MDS is responsible for the conceptual design of the test facility, as well as for the provision of civil building specifications and construction site management services.
MDS also is responsible for the turnkey design and supply of key test systems. These include the Inlet System, Exhaust System, Engine Handling System, Driveline, and Engine Adapters.
Construction of the test facility has just begun and it will be fully operational by January 2012.
