Posted on November 11, 2004

Work has been completed on the MDS-designed AneCom AeroTest (ACAT) Compressor Test Centre in Wildau, Germany. This three-bed state-of-the-art facility, used for complete aerothermal and noise testing of compressor components, was recently commissioned on schedule and on budget.

Dr. Edmund Ahlers, Managing Director of ACAT, said: “I am delighted with the results of this project. The innovative designs implemented by MDS rationalize the cost of hardware, thereby reducing operation costs, and make the facility more flexible, thereby allowing us to accommodate the needs of more Customers. MDS has provided us with a world class facility that will enable us to compete effectively with similar installations around the world”.

The three test beds entered service according to the following schedule:

  • High speed, high pressure bed: September 2003
  • Anechoic chamber for fan noise tests: May 2004
  • Low speed, low and intermediate pressure bed: September 2004
